Some of these can plug into the vent of your vehicle. There are also options that you can have adjustable brackets that hold the phone. With anything that sticks to the dashboard, it may eventually become a distraction for the driver.

Another option is to have suction mounts that are on the dashboard. This allows you to place the phone where you can see it, but you will not have to hold it to talk on it or use the GPS.
